PRESS: Mazurov seeks to buy control in Afipsky oil refinery
MOSCOW, Aug 9 (PRIME) -- Dmitry Mazurov, the major shareholder of New Stream group, seeks to get control in Krasnodar Region-based Afipsky oil refinery, beneficiary owned by banker Vladimir Kogan, Kommersant business daily reported Wednesday citing several sources in the industry.
At present, people close to New Stream are buying 25% in the refinery, and the deal is close to termination, sources said, adding that the stake could be increased in the future. In case of buying the entire facility, New Stream will get 5.5% of the Russian oil refining market.
Representatives of New Stream and Kogan declined to comment.
The Afipsky oil refinery currently has an annual capacity of 6 million tonnes of oil, which could be doubled by 2019.
The main asset of New Stream is Antipinsky oil refinery with a capacity of 9 million tonnes.
